20 Years of Ninja Tune

Ninja Tune. Perhaps the label behind more CD's in my college collection than any other. Earth Rise remains to this day, on heavy rotation. From flavorwire, here are some video's a quick overview of the 20th anniversary box set.

Whats on heavy rotation - Richard Hawley

A British crooner, I first heard Richard Hawley when I saw Banksy's 'Exit Through the Gift Shop' - his song 'Tonight the Streets are Ours' - see previous post. I think he's somewhere between Orbison or Elvis but modern.. Either way - I'm diggin' it... Here some recent video's.

Show em' up - pt. 2 (Black Angels)

These guys rock! Keep an eye out - they'll be getting more press than blog chatter soon enough.

If MMJ is big news, big venue (RC), we saw these guys rock in a totally different way. Way out in Brooklyn, at Southpaw. These five rockers from Austin proved psychedelic rock is still alive and well.... With strobes, feedback and screams, they put on a tremendous show.

Deep drums, feedback galore, catchy riffs and a great singer, they left the crowd sweaty and wanting more. Despite only having two albums under the belt, they sure know how to put on a show.

Mirrored. Battles. See + Hear = Nice.

Nice video collaboration from the NYC band Battles and UVA (United Visual Artists). Using a visual medium to compliment a sound track sound easy - but just try it and see if you can make it look good.
